Alphabet Print Love

As a lover of type, color and fun & modern design, I can’t help but be enamored by a well illustrated alphabet print. There are a lot out there, but some stand out from the rest by a long shot. Here are some of my faves and where to find them:

Love the sophisticated palette and vintage feel in Abécédaire by L’Encre Violette

Love the little line of song at the end of this by Almost Sunday Inc on Etsy

This one is a particular favorite of mine because it’s done by my friend Eleanor. Isn’t it rad?

A sucker for anything in the letterpress style, I’m really digging this one found where else, but Etsy of course.

I love how they call this an Owlphabet… too cute! Find it here.

And finally, this Muppet Alphabet Print from Mike Boon at Society6 brought back a lot of memories!

The fantastic works of Milton Glaser

We all have our personal heros, and one of mine is the amazingly talented Milton Glaser. He’s one of the most celebrated graphic designers in history, and if you haven’t heard his name, you’ve surely seen his work. The “I <heart> NY” logo is one of the most seen, loved, and reproduced marks of all time. I just ordered and received the “I <heart> NY MORE THAN EVER” poster as shown below, which was his response to 9/11. It’s signed, framed, and hangs in a prominent place in my studio. I stare at it daily.

On Feb 25th, 2010, President Obama presented Mr. Glaser with the The National Medal of Arts – the first ever designer to receive this honor. Other recipients included Bob Dylan, Clint Eastwood, and John Williams, to name a few. Thanks for always inspiring me Milton Glaser!
